Chapter 187 Progress
Chapter 187 Progress
The numbers themselves don't mean much; what's important is that Zhou Wanyi went to measure them and then told him when she got back.
He heard her swallow, very softly.
"Let's continue." Yu Heng pushed the tablet towards her again.
Zhou Wanyi sat down again, her fingers swiping rapidly across the screen.
The remaining questions were all subjective feelings, which she filled out using the shortest options, and then clicked submit.
A "Thank you for participating" message popped up on the screen.
Zhou Wanyi put the tablet on the coffee table and stood up: "I'm going to sleep."
"Wait a minute," Yu Heng called out to her.
Zhou Wanyi stopped in her tracks but didn't turn around.
"Tomorrow morning at nine o'clock," Yu Heng said, "I've arranged for someone from a housekeeping company to come over for an interview. You can stay home and watch together."
Does Mom know?
"I'll tell her," Yu Heng stood up, "You go to sleep."
Zhou Wanyi went into the bedroom and closed the door.
Yu Heng sat down on the sofa in the living room and opened the submitted questionnaire data.
In the usage frequency column, Zhou Wanyi selected 3 to 5 times.
3 to 5 times a week.
Yu Heng calculated that it had been about ten days since he gave it to her.
That means being satisfied with the product.
He turned off the tablet, got up, and went to the bathroom to brush his teeth.
As the electric toothbrush buzzed, he heard a very faint noise coming from the master bedroom, like someone turning over, and the bed creaking.
After brushing my teeth, I went into my room.
The room hadn't been lived in for a long time, and there was a faint smell of dust.
The bed sheets were newly changed by Zhou Wanyi, and they felt a little cool to the touch.
Yu Heng lay down, his hands behind his head.
Zhou Wanyi probably can't sleep right now.
What was her expression when you measured her?
Will your hands shake?
After measuring that thing, what did you do with it? Did you wipe it clean and put it back, or...?
He rolled over and faced the wall.
take it easy.

Yu Heng woke up at seven o'clock the next morning.
He put on his clothes and went out of the room; there was movement coming from the kitchen.
Zhou Wanyi was frying eggs, and the pan was sizzling.
"Good morning." Yu Heng walked into the kitchen.
Zhou Wanyi shrugged slightly but didn't turn around: "Good morning."
She was wearing loungewear, her hair tied in a low ponytail, hanging down one shoulder.
"Xiao Hui is still not awake?" Yu Heng asked.
"No." Zhou Wanyi put the fried eggs into a plate. "She should wake up soon."
Yu Heng took the milk out of the refrigerator and poured two glasses. The microwave beeped, and he took it out and placed it on the dining table.
The two ate breakfast facing each other. Zhou Wanyi ate very slowly, keeping her head down the whole time.
"The housekeeping company staff will arrive at nine o'clock," Yu Heng said.
"Hmm." Zhou Wanyi poked the egg yolk with her chopsticks.
At 8:30, Yu Hui woke up.
Zhou Wanyi dressed him and fed him. By the time she finished, it was almost nine o'clock.
The doorbell rang right on time.
Yu Heng went to open the door, and there stood a woman in her forties, dressed neatly, holding a folder in her hand.
"Are you Mr. Yu? I'm Sister Li from Anxin Housekeeping."
"Please come in." Yu Heng stepped aside.
As Sister Li entered, she changed her shoes and saw Zhou Wanyi holding the child. She smiled and nodded, "Is this the baby? How old is he?"
"Ten months," Zhou Wanyi said.
The three sat down to chat. Sister Li was very experienced, having taken care of several children, and had all the necessary documents.
The agreed salary is 6,500 yuan a month, 10 hours a day.
"I mainly take care of the children," Yu Heng said, "and do housework and cooking."
Sister Li nodded: "I understand, I have experience in taking care of children."
After chatting for half an hour, Yu Heng decided to try it out for a month first.
I've signed an agreement with the housekeeping company and I can start work tomorrow.
After seeing Sister Li off, Zhou Wanyi was still standing in the living room.
"You'll be able to relax a bit starting tomorrow," Yu Heng said.
Zhou Wanyi pursed her lips: "Six thousand five hundred a month, isn't that a bit expensive?"
"It's not expensive," Yu Heng said. "Taking care of children is physically demanding."
Yu Hui was playing with building blocks on the playmat, grabbing them and stuffing them into his mouth.
Zhou Wanyi quickly squatted down and took out the building blocks: "You can't eat them."
Yu Heng's phone vibrated, and he took it out to look at it.
It was a WeChat message from Bai Xinran.
Bai Xinran: Good morning, Master. I've finished the sketch of the design and sent it to your email.
Yu Heng: Hmm.
Bai Xinran: Are you coming back today?
Yu Heng: Afternoon.
Bai Xinran: Okay, I'll wait for you.
Yu Heng put away his phone, while Zhou Wanyi continued to play with the child.
She knelt on the ground, her pajamas' neckline slightly loose, revealing a small patch of her chest when she bent over.
Yu Heng looked away: "I'm going back to Tangcheng this afternoon."
Zhou Wanyi looked up: "Oh."
"Call me if you need anything," Yu Heng said.
"What could possibly be wrong?" Zhou Wanyi picked up Yu Hui. "Didn't you hire a nanny?"
Yu Heng didn't reply. He went into the room to pack his backpack. Actually, there wasn't much to pack, just a few clothes.
As the zipper was zipped up, Zhou Wanyi appeared at the door holding the child.
"Um..." she said in a low voice, "your business, is it legal?"
"Don't worry, it's all compliant and legal!" Yu Heng chuckled. "Is your sister-in-law worried about me?"
Zhou Wanyi blushed, bit her lip, and whispered, "You're the only man in the family..."
Hearing this and seeing her expression, Yu Heng felt a surge of anger rising within him again.
Her blushing face, biting her lip, and darting eyes, combined with that last sentence and her expression, made her incredibly alluring.
He took half a step forward, closing the distance.
Zhou Wanyi, holding the child, subconsciously stepped back, her back hitting the door frame.
"Sister-in-law," Yu Heng lowered his voice, "what would you do if something really happened to me?"
Zhou Wanyi was stumped by his question. What should she do?
What can she do?
What should she do?
She hadn't thought about it; she was just instinctively trying to prevent him from going astray.
"I..." Her throat was dry, and she lowered her eyes. "Don't say such unlucky things."
"Okay, I won't say." Yu Heng readily agreed, but didn't back away.
He raised his free hand, as if to tidy up the stray hairs by her ear.
Zhou Wanyi's shoulders tightened, and the hand ultimately did not touch her hair, but only paused briefly near her ear.
Then he landed and picked up her backpack from the cabinet next to him.
"I have to go now. I'll transfer 10,000 yuan to you later. Keep it for your aunt's first month's salary, and use the rest for daily expenses." Yu Heng looked down at his phone. "Let me know if you need more."
-
The car was traveling at a constant speed on the highway.
Yu Heng leaned back in his seat. Shen Yueling had been sleeping next to him since she got in the car. He took out his phone to check his emails.
I opened the design drawing sent by Bai Xinran. The lines were clean and the annotations were detailed.
This girl has quite the ideas; she wants to be a dog in the Year of the Dog, right?
Compared to horses, dogs are indeed more common.
Yu Heng zoomed in to examine the details.
He closed the email and sent Bai Xinran a WeChat message: I've looked at the picture, it's okay, I'll explain in detail when I get back.
Bai Xinran replied almost instantly: Okay, Master.
Yu Heng stared at the screen for two seconds, then put his phone away.
This girl has been in good spirits lately; she's noticeably more relaxed, and there's less of that deliberate attempt to please her, and more of a natural compliance.
This is a good thing. It means she's starting to really get into character.
Zhou Wanyi's side has also taken a small step forward.
We've hired a housekeeper, which adds up to an extra expense each month, but that amount of money isn't much now.
The income from Douyin is better than expected. When I started recording live streams this month, there was only about half a month left. Next month's income should reach six figures. With more money, there are more things I can do.
He thought of Lin Yu again.
Will she come to the shoot next week?
The prospect of earning 20,000 yuan a week was still very tempting for her.
That's how people are; the first time is the hardest, but once you break through that barrier, the rest becomes much easier.
