Transformers: Survival of Defective Products

Chapter 205 Fence-Sitter | Honor

Chapter 205 Fence-Sitter | Honor

Only after knocking down the enemy and confirming that there was no dust on the edges of the shoulder armor did I walk in, satisfied.

He sat down gracefully in his seat, as if it were a showroom for a high-end nail care shop.

"How are the Decepticons' wounded doing?"

"Basically stable." Knockdown didn't grumble this time. "The water ingress, corrosion, and short circuits have been mostly dealt with. Minor damage heals quickly, while more serious damage will require periodic maintenance."

He pushed the medical report over: "Several machines tried to remove the support frames ahead of schedule, but I forced them back in."

"How are they doing?"

Knockout chuckled: "After I yelled at you, your mental state was very stable."

Use the vector tool to browse the report.

The Decepticons suffered a significant number of wounded, but fortunately, most of the problems were related to water pressure damage, armor cracks, deep-sea corrosion, and combat overload.

Knockout made a very good record.

The layout is neat, the layers are clear, and even the warning labels use a color scheme that is not glaring.

I don't know whether to praise or laugh at this:

"You even have to be particular about aesthetics in your medical reports?"

Debunking assumptions: "An ugly report will ruin your reading experience."

BICk0 quickly glanced at his record template.

Knockout added, "Of course, your secretary did a good job."

BICk0 smiled, and the car door flaps swayed: "Thank you."

Knocked back in his chair with amusement: "Aesthetics are key to fostering relationships."

"It could also contribute to budget overruns."

When the vector is knocked down and shows a slightly injured expression, the expense report is retrieved.

"The polishing machine and the new paint job must have been too much."

"Oh no, a polishing machine is absolutely necessary!"

Yin Xiang sighed and closed the document: "As long as the wounded are not seriously injured, that's fine."

He looked at her quietly, his fingertips lightly resting on the side of the chair, and suddenly said:

"Attraction vector".

Although his tone was still smiling, he seemed much more restrained than before:

What do you think of me?

The vector was stunned for a moment; the question was too sudden.

She thought for a moment: "A very good physician."

Knockout raised an eyebrow: "That's it?"

"The most talkative and sarcastic medic in the Kalon Arena."

He burst out laughing, clearly amused by the remark.

"You have good taste."

"Don't you know that yourself?"

"Of course," Knockout said, "A strong sense of self-awareness is also part of the charm."

The vector initially thought the matter was over.

After laughing for a while, he looked at her again.

This time, the problem is no longer hidden in jokes.

"I'm serious."

The vector stopped, and the knocked-down optical mirror stared straight at her.

"What exactly do you think of me?"

BICk0 feels that she has been acting as a quiet piece of furniture from time to time these days.

After observing the knockdown, he was still sitting there, a slight smile on his lips, the whole machine exquisite and elegant.

But he asked so seriously, it was completely unlike the witty nonsense he usually spouted off casually.

So she didn't give a perfunctory answer.

Most of the time you're easygoing, love watching the excitement, are a chatterbox, and don't take anything to heart.

"You only care about how good your armor looks, whether the polishing is done properly, who scraped your paint, and where there's any drama to watch."

He gently touched his wrist guard: "The scratches were already quite severe."

Vector shrugged: "No problem."

"You like things to be pretty and relaxed, which makes it fun for me to be around you."

A smile crept up his face, and just as he was about to speak, he heard her say...

"But you've never truly liked any faction."

The smile that had been knocked down was delayed; the corners of his mouth didn't fully lift.

Vector pondered the choice of words: "Rather than saying, you never dedicate yourself entirely to any one idea."

Knocked down, he listened quietly, his smile not fading, but his eyes becoming more serious.

"The Decepticons are more suitable for your survival, compared to the Autobots, I'd say."

The fingertip that had been knocked down tapped the side of the chair, seemingly interested in her statement.

"At least there you are allowed to be sharp, mean, and selfish, so you stay there."

He stared at her for a long time, then suddenly laughed out loud, a short and earnest laugh.

"You really are..."

He shook his head: "I always see things too clearly."

Vector: "I've already put it very tactfully."

He leaned closer, knocking her down: "So, thank you for your thoughtfulness?"

He slowly stopped laughing, and his voice softened.

"I am indeed a fence-sitter."

He seemed completely unconcerned about the word.

"I only stand with the side that will win, is stable, and brings benefits."

He spread his hands.

"Living beautifully comes at a high cost."

The vector does neither mock nor agree with this.

The smile in the knocked-down optical mirror slowly faded, replaced by a more serious expression.

"And now, it's you on that side."

He paused for a moment, then suddenly changed his tune:

"Or rather, the judicial center where you are located."

Yin Vector wanted to scratch his head, because this statement was even stranger than the previous "fence-sitter".

Based on reality and her understanding of knockout, this is not the best option.

"You'll be more comfortable staying with the Decepticons," she said. "Megatron is rebuilding the Decepticons, and the medical system needs you. You'll have a position, qualifications, and a certain degree of freedom there."

Yin Xiang pointed to the desk: "The judicial center has many rules, and you probably won't like most of the procedures."

He didn't argue after being knocked down; instead, he chuckled and seemed even more relaxed and at ease.

"But now I want to move to a different place and see if I can live a less miserable life."

The knockout was still described as casual conversation, the real reason was hidden in the words and not explained, let alone why he suddenly wanted to get closer to the judicial center.

Those words were too blunt and unsafe for a knockout.

So he only said:

"And here... I feel the trouble is worthwhile."

Vector thinks that people's speech has become increasingly difficult to understand lately.

Before she could even ask him anything, he reverted to his usual casual demeanor.

"so--"

He smiled broadly, deliberately drawing out the sound.

"Would you be interested in taking in a beautiful, professional, occasionally talkative, but extremely useful medical officer?"

The brain module of the vector input appears as a gray dashed loading circle:

"So what?"

"An unofficial medical collaborator within the judicial central staff," he laughed, knocking down the officer.

BICk0 clearly disagreed: "This position does not currently exist."

Knocked down and silent, BICk0 simply looked at the vector and awaited her decision.

The vector was serious, and seeing that the knockdown was actually being carried out, he reminded him:

"You're a Decepticon medic. If you become an unofficial member of the judicial system, the Decepticons won't be completely unresponsive; Megatron will probably say something too."

"Megatron has enough things that make him unhappy, one more won't make a difference."

This time, we'll just use the more common internal term "Megatron" to refer to him.

The vector felt like taking a deep breath again.

Did I recruit a physician in a very strange way?

Forget it, Cybertron is the birthplace of absurdity.

"Okay, I'll arrange it for you."

"If Megatron causes you trouble because of this, I'll take care of it."

BICk0's downed smile prompted him to mutter, "I can't bear to look."

"Then we'll have to rely on you, Chief Justice."

"Actually, you also need to pass the basic regulations exam of the judicial center."

The smile on his face froze: "...An exam?"

-

Despite feeling defeated after being bombarded with a bunch of rules and regulations that required preparation and fluent memorization, I still left home with elegance.

"Megatron will probably be very unhappy." BICk0 knew that the statement just made by the vector was convergent.

"If he's unhappy about going and has complaints, he can come to me. Perfect, I haven't finished talking to him about the last part yet."

BICk0 shuddered; she had also read the final draft of the interview prepared by the vector.

She actually found it terrifying. On one hand, the vector precisely analyzed some of Megatron's psychology, and on the other hand... she was actually preparing to tell him, fearing that Megatron would break down and take action.

-

Next were Tianzhen and Haiyi, who had volunteered to come, so they were added to the inquiry list by the Vector.

Two large machines entered and stood side by side, bowing to the vector: "Chief Judge."

Yin Xiang stood up and returned the greeting: "Heavenly Tremor, Terrifying Wings."

They didn't sit down, but they had something to say, so they got straight to the point.

Tianzhen said first, "Our presence here today does not represent the Tyrant Tigers."

Horrifying Wings: "But it's not a betrayal of Lord Megatron either."

The vectors listened, while they stood as if this were a warrior's hall where etiquette had to be observed.

Tianzhen: "After the battle with the Five-Faced Monster, we've figured some things out more clearly."

Haunted Wings: "The Decepticons have strayed from their original ideals along the way."

They spoke directly and bluntly, without using victory or defeat to cover up the past wars.

"We, as warriors, should not follow destruction," Haunted Wing said.

Tianzhen said earnestly, "Even Lord Weizhentian wasn't always like that."

The vector has some understanding of them; neither Skyquake nor Haze is a machine that likes to repeatedly weigh the pros and cons.

They value loyalty, honor, and the dignity of a soldier, as well as their comrades.

So when their beliefs were eroded by war and selfishness, they chose to express them in a straightforward way, but their loyalty prevented them from betraying them.

Both Thunderwing and Skyquake said at the same time, "But Lord Megatron is still our recognized leader."

Tianzhen continued, "At least for now, we see that he is willing to change."

Megatron is reading the appeal, installing monitoring devices, paying compensation, and slowly listening to the voices he once thought he represented.

Bystanders would say it's ridiculous, but his followers and his loyal followers would say it's important.

Tianzhen's optical mirror is steady and bright.

"You made him confront himself again."

Hazywing also looked toward the vector.

"It also reminded many Decepticons of why they initially took up arms in the first place."

They said in unison again:

Therefore, we respect you.

As she fell into deep thought, two soldiers placed their honors and medals before her.

She also straightened her expression.

"I respect you all very much."

Haiyi bowed slightly:

"So, if the judicial authorities need assistance, as long as it does not violate our loyalty to Lord Megatron or our warrior's honor, we will respond."

Tian Zhen also took the same action:

"This is our personal commitment."

After a long silence, Yin Xiang realized that such words couldn't be easily dismissed, so she stood up and bowed slightly.

"Thank you, you are true warriors."

Both machines bowed in the same way:

"It is our honor."

They didn't linger; the soldier's words were brief but sincere.

BICk0 watched as the number of "staff" at the judicial center increased, stroking his chin in thought—

The judicial center...will it one day become an omnipotent tower...?
