Chapter 202 Don't you want me anymore?
Chapter 202 Don't you want me anymore?
The vector is struggling to function in the still-unconscious brain modules.
After a brief silence, she spoke earnestly, "It was too late last night."
Megatron was still gritting his teeth.
"I listened to him play the piano at the bar," Yin Xiang continued to explain. "It was very late when it ended, and he had to go back to Iron Castle, which was a long way. I had a guest room here, so I let him stay for the night."
She spoke honestly, but Megatron's aura still plummeted.
The jazz barista leaned against the corridor wall, smiling serenely: "It really is just a guest room."
Megatron slowly looked at him.
The judge added, "The chief judge also emphasized that."
He seemed completely oblivious to the imposing aura emanating from the doorway that was about to deform the walls, and continued gently:
"She was very considerate last night."
Vector shrugs: "Normal arrangement."
"Yes." The gentleman smiled. "Thanks."
Megatron's fingers tightened on the edge of the door frame for a moment, and the door frame let out a small, mournful groan.
The vector immediately looked over: "Don't pinch us!"
Megatron released his grip.
The jazz, seemingly sensible, took a few steps forward, but actually quite tactlessly added another sentence:
"Oh, and she also ordered me a drink."
Vector: "That's post-show supplies."
Jazz nodded: "Low-temperature mineral crystals, very delicious."
Megatron looked at him as if he were deciding where to dismantle him first.
Jazz remained calm, as if he had just offered a trivial drink review.
Yin Vector rubbed his temples.
She hadn't had breakfast yet, so she really didn't have the energy to figure out in the early morning why a cup of low-temperature mineral crystals would make Megatron seem like he wanted to restart the civil war.
Megatron finally spoke: "You should go back to Ironforge."
The jazz musician looked at him: "Now?"
Yin Xiang frowned: "He just woke up."
Megatron looked down at her, his tone restrained:
"I have something to discuss with you privately."
The vector stared at him for two seconds, and finally admitted it.
The jazz also realized that this was about the end of it.
He stopped provoking Megatron, simply walked to the door, turned back, and smiled at Vector.
"Thank you for taking me in last night."
"fine."
See you next time we listen to music.
Megatron's optical mirror flashed dangerously.
The jazz figure didn't seem to be seen.
"Watch out on the road." Yin Xiang waved.
The jazz nodded again to Megatron: "Megatron."
Megatron stared at him coldly.
The jazz singer left with a smile on his face.
After the door closed, only the two machines and a quiet room remained.
Yin Vector stood at the door, slowly restarting his delayed morning routine.
Megatron stood before her, the monitor on his chest glowing quietly in the armor compartment, its light reflecting off the D-16 nameplate.
After glancing around to confirm that no alarm had been triggered, Yin Vector turned and walked towards the living room.
"So, what's your urgent matter?"
She sat down on the sofa, casually took an energy block from the small supply cabinet next to her, and just bit off the seal, before she even had a chance to take a second bite.
Megatron walked over.
The vector looked up and saw his shadow fall first.
She stopped eating the energy bar.
Megatron didn't approach directly like he had before.
He slowly lowered his body in front of her, his massive form collapsing, his kneecaps half-kneeling on the floor in front of the sofa, his red optical glasses meeting her gaze.
He braced his arms on either side of the sofa, without touching her, but encircling her in a narrow space.
Her anger and decisiveness, the previous attack, and that long, almost time-distorted sleep made him even more restrained and cautious in such situations.
The vector tried to continue eating its breakfast energy bar, but couldn't help looking at him.
"You're discussing urgent matters like this?"
Megatron, however, brought up another topic:
"I read a lot of appeals."
The vector raised an eyebrow: "Which ones?"
"Mining areas, hospitals, logistics, wartime conscription, missing persons registration."
He paused. "There's a lot more about me."
Vector slowly took a bite of the energy block: "Hmm."
Megatron looked at her.
"I will continue reading."
"I will read all the parts you've highlighted," he said, "even if it takes a long time."
After finishing chewing the energy block, the vector expert spoke: "That's good."
Megatron's optical mirror was trembling, which didn't seem to be what he really wanted to say.
Sure enough, after a brief silence, he asked:
"Then why don't you want to go back to where we originally lived?"
The vector didn't continue eating this time, and after a while, it said:
"It's not that the place is bad; it does hold many memories."
The night sky over Calon, the return journey after the arena, days spent so busy that supplies were forgotten, and many other things from before the battle.
She certainly remembered, but that didn't mean she could go back immediately.
"But I am now the Chief Justice," said the quoting vector. "The Civil War has just ended, and if I were to move back to your place, it would have serious political repercussions."
Megatron said in a low voice, "You used to live here."
She paused for a moment: "That was before."
There was a moment of silence in the living room.
Megatron did not refute.
The old house has been repaired, but many things cannot be restored to their original state simply by repairing the walls.
The vector also says:
"It's close to the judicial center here, making it convenient to handle affairs. I need my own place to live, and I also need to let everyone know that the judicial center is not an appendage of any organization."
"I know."
He said that's what he said, but his tone clearly showed dissatisfaction.
Yin Xiang looked at him and said, "Also, I am still angry with you."
Megatron finally raised the optical mirror.
This statement was actually easier for him to accept than the previous political reasons.
He remained silent for a long time, then said in a low voice:
"Then reserve a room for me."
The brain module that draws vectors gets stuck on the spot.
"What?"
Megatron continued, "This house is very large."
"Don't you know how inexplicable you are?"
"Save me a room."
The vector held the energy block, looking at him hesitantly.
"You have your own place to stay."
"That's different."
"What's different?"
Megatron didn't answer, as if it was too difficult to say.
He just stared at her, the light reflecting off his face, making it seem as if he was holding back something the whole time.
I wanted to continue asking about the vector.
But suddenly it was discovered that the dark red of Megatron's optical lens seemed bottomless, as if it was desperately trying to suppress itself.
In an instant, Megatron suddenly lowered his head.
When the armor touched her chest, the entire machine stiffened for a moment.
He placed his hands on her waist, gently pressing them down as if afraid she would back away, then slammed the door shut and disappeared.
He was ridiculously heavy, exuding an astonishing sense of oppression, yet he suppressed all aggression.
The large mechanical beasts couldn't find a place to park, so they had to carefully bury themselves inside.
The vector was still holding the unfinished energy block in its hand, and it stood there stunned for a long time.
Damn it, when did she start needing to appease even a guy this size?
Her hand hovered in mid-air before finally landing on his back armor and gently patting it.
Megatron didn't move.
All those things that had been piling up for too long—old disputes, the backs of those he hadn't chased after, the long civil war and the greedy desires it brought, the Quintesson's plot on Aquitron, and her packed schedule after his return—he could no longer suppress and endure them for four million years.
And so it all erupted at that moment.
His voice was so low it was almost inaudible; if the living room hadn't been quiet, Yin Xiang would have thought he was just humming.
"Don't you want me anymore?"
The vector was completely dumbfounded, and it wasn't even his usual questioning, but a few words accidentally escaped from the chaotic thoughts buried in the embers.
It took her a while to realize what was happening.
"It's not that I don't want you."
Megatron did not look up.
The vector slowly placed the energy block aside, and his other hand landed behind him.
"I'm just still angry."
His fingers tightened slightly, then quickly loosened.
"There's been a lot going on lately," she said. "The end of the civil war, the aftermath of Aquitron, inquiries, reconstruction, and a whole bunch of other messy things."
She paused for a moment.
"But you accepted my ruling, continued reading the appeal, installed the monitoring device, and paid the compensation—I saw all of that."
Megatron listened quietly.
The vector bowed its head and whispered:
"I didn't say I was going to abandon you."
She could feel the pressure in Megatron's palm gradually loosening.
The armor on her forehead remained pressed against her, as if she had finally been temporarily calmed by a clear answer.
After a while, he repeated in a muffled voice:
"Save me a room."
Vector: ...What exactly is it going to do?
She was initially puzzled, but looking at him like this in her arms, she suddenly felt like laughing.
"OK."
Megatron still didn't move.
The vector continued, "You choose for yourself."
This time, Megatron finally showed some reaction.
"It can't be the one the jazz slew stayed in."
"...That's a guest room."
"Change it."
The vector closed the optical lens: "Fine, I won't give you that room."
"And not next to Optimus Prime."
"I don't have an Optimus Prime room in my house yet."
Megatron paused for a second: "Never again."
Yin glared at him: "Are you here to get a room, or what?"
Megatron remained silent.
Yin Xiang sighed: "I'll reserve one room for you first, we'll talk about the others later."
He was somewhat appeased by those words, but still didn't get up.
After waiting a while, the vector patted his carapace.
"stand up."
Megatron remained unmoved.
Megatron—
He remained silent for a moment, his voice still muffled against her chest.
"I'll stay for a while."
The vector still didn't understand why he could associate a room with "they don't want me anymore".
But this probably didn't just happen this morning.
She resigned herself to her fate and relaxed, no longer urging him, and put her hand back on his back.
"Just for a little while."
