Chapter 887 - 857
Chapter 887 - 857
"Who’s there! Someone, there’s an intruder!"
A beam of light shone on Gu Cheng, and the security guard below shouted out. Gu Cheng remained calm and immediately pushed open the window and jumped inside.
The man in the room immediately stood up, frowned, and looked at the boy who had suddenly burst in, "Who are you? What do you want?"
"Young master, I’m Gu Cheng. Why don’t you recognize me?" Gu Cheng anxiously approached him, but the man quickly retreated, "Don’t come over! I don’t know what you’re talking about, I don’t know you."
Hearing this, Gu Cheng was completely dumbfounded. Seeing someone else had broken into the room, Gu Cheng didn’t hesitate and jumped out the window, then left quickly.
"Brother Nan, are you okay? Are you injured?" A woman ran in, nervously grabbing his arm.
The man subtly pushed her hand away and said, "I’m fine."
"That’s good to hear." Luo Ran awkwardly let go of his hand and lowered her head with some sadness.
"What happened? Gu Nan, are you alright?" Luo Ang ran in, looking at the man with concern.
Before long, a middle-aged couple hurried in, expressing their concern to Gu Nan.
"I’m fine. What about that person, did you catch him?" Gu Nan looked outside.
"Master, that person ran away," a bodyguard came up to report.
"Who was it?" Father Luo frowned with displeasure.
"He ran towards the village down the mountain. Could it be a villager from there, coming to steal?" the bodyguard replied.
"Never mind him for now. Strengthen the security further; don’t let anyone else take advantage of this." After Father Luo spoke, he and his wife went back to rest.
Luo Ang looked at Gu Nan and asked, "Did you get a clear look at his face?"
"No, I didn’t see clearly. What’s the village down there?" Luo Nan took two subtle steps forward.
"Just an ordinary, impoverished village. The people there are very poor. He probably came to steal." Luo Ang said.
"Hmm." Gu Nan responded blandly.
"Rest up then, Ranran, let’s go." Luo Ang pulled his reluctant sister out of the room.
Once the door was closed, Gu Nan walked to the window and looked into the distance. In the pitch-black night, nothing could be seen, but he knew there was a village out there.
...
Gu Cheng didn’t even know how he made it back. He rushed directly to the outside of Qiao Qiqi’s room and knocked on the door. Qiao Qiqi had already been sleeping but immediately sat up and came to open the door when she heard the noise.
From another room came Shui Qingcheng’s grumbling voice.
"What’s the situation?" After entering, Qiao Qiqi looked at the anxious man and asked.
"Young master, he is there!" Gu Cheng finally managed to say after gasping for breath for a long time. He had rushed back too quickly and was out of breath.
"Who? Are you talking about... Gu Shili?" Qiao Qiqi was also startled, frowning at him.
"Yes, young master, I couldn’t be mistaken, but the young master... seems not to recognize me!" Gu Cheng finally caught his breath.
Qiao Qiqi spun around twice on the spot, poured Gu Cheng a glass of water, and said, "Tell me about what just happened, and Gu Shili’s reaction when he saw you."
Gu Cheng drank the water first, sat down, and recounted everything that had just happened to Qiao Qiqi without missing a beat.
"It seems he has amnesia." Qiao Qiqi tapped the table, almost certain.
"Amnesia... it’s quite likely. According to Old Lu, young master and Gu Lizhe were the closest to the explosion point and have gone missing." Gu Cheng also felt this was the most likely explanation.
