Chapter 552 - 553 Dragon Country Crisis [2/7 Please Subscribe]
The words of the Queen of Arthur Country left everyone incredulous. To think that all their nations combined could not defeat a single Wu Tian! Although Wu Tian’s nickname was the Martial God, he wasn’t a true god.
At that, the Monarch of the Iron Tower Country was the first to leap to his feet again, his voice filled with anger as he stared at the Queen. "Do you have any idea what you’re saying?
"It was the honor of my Iron Tower Country that Wu Tian trampled on!
"But this is different now! He looks down on the Hezong Country, on all our nations!
"And you dare say we can’t defeat someone like that? You’re bolstering his arrogance while undermining our own prestige! Ridiculous!"
The other monarchs glared at the Queen of Arthur Country, their eyes filled with ill will.
Faced with their collective suspicion, the Queen of Arthur Country could only offer a wry smile. "My lords, I am not speaking in Wu Tian’s favor. I am saying this for your own good. As a fellow monarch of the European continent, I do not wish to see you provoke him. None of us has been able to determine the cause of this recent Spiritual Energy resurgence. I have a suspicion that it might be related to Wu Tian. If that’s the case, he would be the protagonist of this new era. And us? Are we just here to be farmed for experience points?"
A woman’s intuition could be a terrifying thing. The Queen had already considered this possibility, but her words only elicited scornful laughter from the other monarchs.
Wu Tian, the protagonist? And they were just here to be his stepping stones? What a joke!
None of the monarchs would accept such a thing. Who would ever want to be a mere supporting character? Each one of them believed that they were the main character, the center of the world. Consequently, the Queen’s words only earned their ire.
At this moment, the Secretary-General of the Hezong Country knew it was time to intervene. "Alright, alright, everyone. We are all friends here. Let’s not allow this to damage our camaraderie!"
Knowing her presence would only make things more unpleasant, the Queen of Arthur Country exchanged a few words with the Secretary-General before taking her leave, leading her entourage away without another moment’s delay. As they watched her go, the other monarchs in the office smirked with a mixture of disdain, glee, mockery, and even a hint of pity.
After leaving the Hezong Country building, the Queen of Arthur Country did not linger, deciding to return to her own nation immediately.
One of her knights approached her, his expression puzzled. "Your Majesty, your words have thoroughly offended the other nations! Was it worth it, all for that man, Wu Tian?"
The other knights also turned their attention to her, equally confused as to why their queen would say such things.
Hearing the knight’s question, the Queen’s thoughts briefly turned to Wu Fa, the man she admired. But her stand today had not been for his sake.
The Queen of Arthur Country stated solemnly, "Regarding the Spiritual Energy resurgence, I am thirty percent certain that Wu Tian is involved.
"The other nations have grown arrogant. The Spiritual Energy resurgence has indirectly given them access to hyper-advanced powers, and they now believe themselves to be invincible.
"I have a strong intuition that if they truly pressure Dragon Country and push Wu Tian too far, disaster will befall them!"
The knights were dumbfounded. They couldn’t believe their queen genuinely thought Dragon Country could stand against all the other nations, or that Wu Tian alone could triumph over their many powerful experts.
How could that be possible? They didn’t deny that Dragon Country was no longer the weak nation it once was, nor did they deny that Wu Tian’s strength was unparalleled. But to fight against so many... how could he possibly win?
Meanwhile, back inside the Hezong Country building, the remaining monarchs exchanged a knowing glance.
The Monarch of the Iron Tower Country stood up once more, his gaze sweeping over the others. "So, what is your decision? If you won’t act with me, I will pressure Dragon Country alone. When I do, any benefits I reap will have nothing to do with your nations."
Hei Bamah, the Monarch of the United States of America, chuckled. "Rest assured. We’ve always advocated that peace is the ladder of human progress. Since Wu Tian obstructs that peace, he is our enemy. We will pressure Dragon Country together and demand they deal with Wu Tian themselves. If they don’t, we will."
The other monarchs nodded in agreement. The Secretary-General of the Hezong Country remained silent.
"And what if Dragon Country refuses to clean their own house? You know how stubborn the People of Dragon Country are," the Monarch of Bang Country said coldly. He held the deepest disdain for Dragon Country. Too many young women from Dragon Country were infatuated with the "oppas" from his country, yet the men of Dragon Country largely detested Bang Country. They claimed Bang Country was full of men and women who had undergone plastic surgery and that their men were effeminate. The animosity between the two nations was immense.
Hearing this, Hei Bamah’s lips curled into a cold smile, and his eyes turned fierce. "Then we’ll devise a way to force their hand. For example, we could pressure their military stationed at the border, or Dragon Country’s embassies in our nations. We could have someone from an embassy disappear every day. Better yet, we could advance our mechas to their border!"
BOOM!
The other monarchs hadn’t expected Hei Bamah to propose such a ruthless plan. This was true pressure. Dragon Country: deal with Wu Tian, or face annihilation.
"An excellent idea!"
"Yes, let’s do exactly that!"
The monarchs looked at each other, nodding in agreement. Of course, they all harbored their own ulterior motives. Dragon Country was a prize they all coveted. Whether they would remain allies after its fall was another question entirely.
Still in Yang City, Wu Tian was oblivious to the events unfolding in the Hezong Country. His Spiritual Sense could observe the entire world, but he wasn’t monitoring it at every moment. Right now, he was in his room, pondering the trial of the Ginseng Fruit Tree.
What could it be? And what is this legacy of all the Heavenly Gods?
He then turned his attention back to the time machine. It would require immense power to activate. Wu Tian had no desire to travel through history; he wanted to study it to understand the profound meanings of space and time.
"Wu Tian, come downstairs for noodles," Qin Yuhan called out from below. She had sworn to give him the silent treatment for a day, and that day had now passed.
But Wu Tian wasn’t going to be let off the hook so easily. A smile played on his lips as he called back, "What kind of noodles are you cooking?"
"Mushroom and spare rib noodles."
"Just remember, I don’t want mushrooms, I don’t want spare ribs, and I don’t want noodles," Wu Tian retorted.
Downstairs, Qin Yuhan was left speechless.
Seeing the couple’s standoff, Murong Yezi walked over to Qin Yuhan’s side. "You know the saying, don’t you? ’A woman chasing a man is separated by a mere veil.’ If you throw caution to the wind, he’ll definitely forgive you."
"Throw caution to the wind?" Qin Yuhan asked, taken aback. "What do you mean?"
"I bought you an outfit," Murong Yezi said, pulling out a set of clothes. "Put this on, go to his room, and call him for noodles. He will surely forgive you."
Qin Yuhan’s face flushed crimson as she looked at the outfit. It was made entirely of lace. It would barely cover anything.
She said stiffly, "Even if wearing this would make him love me more and listen to my every word from now on, I... I still won’t wear it!"
Make Dad listen to her?
The little one didn’t understand what her grandma and mother were talking about, but she latched onto that phrase.
"If Mommy won’t wear it, I will!" she declared.
