Chapter 366: Clear Strategy
Upon hearing that Amos had something to say, the other four immediately listened, intent to hear what Amos had to say.
Seeing that they were listening to him, Amos felt a little gratified. Even though he was the leader of the blood reapers syndicate, it was not as if he held the absolute authority.
In fact, within this room, every moment, he was kind of afraid that things might go south.
After all, out of all the 5 people present inside this room, he was the only person who was not a mutant. The other four were all mutants, and each one of them had incredible abilities that boosted their strength.
Completely different from the silent order syndicate that was owned by the Santos family, the Blood Reapers syndicate was different, when it came to mutants, and the selection of the leaders.
For the silent order syndicate, since it was established by the Santos family, the leader of the syndicate would always be a member of the Santos family.
In fact, quite a number of very important positions within the syndicate were held by members of the Santos family. Of course, other members of the syndicate were also given positions based on their merits and loyalty, but they could never hold much power as compared to the members of the Santos family.
Still, the old man, Matthew, was able to stabilize things within the syndicate, by granting benefits enough to satisfy all the members of the syndicate, that contributed.
But of course, such a method could not work within the blood reapers syndicate.
For the Santos family, they had no any intention of involving a member of the family to take a risk by consuming the mutation serum.
For that reason, there was not even a single person within the Santos family, bearing the surname Santos, who was a mutant. This was exactly why Matthew and Newton were kind of desperate to get Michael to go back with them.
Within the Blood Reapers syndicate, the moment that the mutation serum was secured, it would be available for those that had the highest contributions.
Of course, it was not as if everyone who had contributed to the organization had to take the risk involving the mutation serum. But it was an option, and they were given the priority.
These four, they were among those that had managed to get their hands on the mutation serums, and they were lucky, as they awakened incredible abilities that boosted their combat strength.
Amos also had the opportunity to take the mutation serum, but in the end, he was unwilling to do it, at least not for now. He wanted his nephew to take over the position of the next leader of the syndicate, before taking the serum.
But with him not taking the serum, and being just an ordinary human, though with some fighting skills, he had to face tremendous pressure.
Good thing though, all these for people, they had all been promoted by Amos back when he took over the position of the leader of the syndicate.
Therefore, until now, none of them had any intention of replacing him from that position. Otherwise, if they did, there was a high probability that they might be able to replace him.
Now, looking at them, keenly listening to what he had to say, he felt proud internally. And of course, he did not show it on his old face, as he understood that things might go wrong if he did so.
"It is like this, previously, I had paid the death shadow organization, to deal with someone. But I never expected that Zachary’s son has quite some background, apart from the Santos family.
And there is a high probability that he is a mutant. And because of this, the bounty that I had placed on his head backfired, as the assassin failed the task. In fact, I had to pay more because of this.
Now, I’m thinking, what if we sacrifice a good amount of resources, in order to hire a bigger organization than the death shadow organization, to deal with the Santos family?
As long as the Santos family is eliminated, the entire silent order syndicate will collapse. By then, we can take over their businesses and other resources, easily recouping the losses suffered to hire the experts.
I know, you might claim that those resources that we can acquire from the Santos family might not be enough to be able to cover the expenses, and bring profits as compared to using other methods. But you have to think this through.
With the Santos family eliminated, we will be able to rule over the entire country’s underworld. By then, it would only be a matter of time before we make huge profits.
Additionally, using this method, we only spend quite a bit of money, and we don’t have to risk much. On the other hand, if we use the other methods, the probability of casualties will be high.
And as you expect, those methods will involve you guys taking action. Who among you can guarantee that they might not meet a fatal end, before the Santos family and the silent order syndicate are eliminated?" Amos explained animatedly.
He made sure to be precise with his words, and at the end of it all, he mentioned the probability of one or even all of the people in front of him dying.
This way, he would show them that he cared about them, reducing the probability of them betraying him in the future. At the same time, he really felt that this was the best method.
Before this meeting, he had not really thought about this. It was only when this group was arguing with each other that he got this idea. That was why he immediately suggested it.
There was quite an extended duration of silence, as the four deeply thought about it. Finally, a few minutes later, the lady who had been arguing with the other guy spoke first.
She said, "I agree with this. Additionally, I believe that we can cut on some costs by providing the information on the plans that we have made. While the plan is not completely successful, it might be able to help out in one way or the other."
With her agreeing, the others also immediately agreed with this. No matter how much each one of them thought about it, they realized that this was the safest option.
While none of them was a coward, that was only if it did not involve their own lives. Basically, they were the types that bullied the week and feared the strong.
They were extremely cruel, and did not bat an eye when killing someone. But when it was their turn to face death, they would all beg for mercy, throwing aside their pride.
"Great! Since you all agree, then it is decided, we will follow this method. I have yet to make any contact with any organization, so, I will make the arrangements first.
After I get the price required or has to pay in order to eliminate the silent order syndicate, we will convene again, in order to discuss if we will really go through with it." Amos clapped his hands as he exclaimed.

Santos family residence, Newton’s study...
"Father, what should we do? No matter what, we have to find a way of bringing Michael back to the family. At the moment, after we have cleared the misunderstanding, at least he doesn’t hate us.
But as the only person with the surname Santos, who is a mutant, it would be incredible if he would come back to the family.
And more than that, the connections that he has, if we can link up with them, it would be even great. That way, it would be much easier for us to be able to deal with those bastards of the blood reapers syndicate." Newton spoke as he looked at his father who was sitting behind the desk.
At the moment, Newton was standing in front of the desk, having just arrived in the study, with Matthew, currently busy with something on the desktop on top of the desk.
The issue concerning Bob was something that had to be handled carefully. And more than that, having already realized that Bob was a spy, there were a lot of things that needed to be taken care of.
They all understood that with Bob, having been with them for many years, definitely knew a lot of secrets. And with that, some of their plans might have already been known by their enemies.
It was also at this point that they finally understood why some of the things that they planned usually ended up as a failure.
Just in case the blood reapers syndicate were planning to take action against them, Newton understood that they had to take counter measures as soon as possible.
It was only now that he had gotten some time, before he came to look for Matthew, to discuss this.
"Do you think I don’t know about this? Of course, I know. But, what was going on through that idiotic mind of yours, when you decided not to bring that kid as soon as you realized that your brother was dead?!" raising his head to look at Newton, Matthew asked irritatedly.
If not for the fact that he knew that Henry was still young, he would have much more preferred to have Henry in charge of the Santos family and the silent order syndicate.
"But, dad, I already told you about the situation. I was worried that the news of brother’s death might affect you, and if something happened to you, the entire family would be implicated." Newton lowered his head slightly as he responded.
The old man glared at Newton for quite a while, before he shook his head as he said, "Forget it, there is something else that we need to discuss about. It is giving me a headache."
